The Carolina Foundation and Fundación Iberdrola España launch a postgraduate scholarship programme in energy and sustainability for nationals of Portugal and Brazil

  • Exclusive scholarships for students from Brazil and Portugal, aimed at specialized training in sustainable energy, energy efficiency and the environment
  • Thirteen postgraduate scholarships for the 2026–2027 academic year at leading Spanish universities, designed to drive the energy transition and sustainable development in the Ibero-American region

The Carolina Foundation, together with Fundación Iberdrola España, is launching a new postgraduate scholarship programme exclusively for nationals of Brazil and Portugal. This initiative offers a unique opportunity for academic specialization in strategic areas linked to sustainable energies, energy efficiency, renewable energy and environmental protection.

Through this joint programme, both foundations reaffirm their commitment to excellence in education and the development of young talent, promoting high‑level academic and professional training. The goal is to provide beneficiaries with advanced knowledge and specialized technical skills that will enable them to successfully address current challenges in the energy sector, increasingly oriented toward innovation and sustainability.

The call also aims to strengthen the specialization of professionals committed to the energy transition and sustainable development, contributing actively to building a cleaner, more responsible and more efficient energy model, with a positive impact on the Ibero-American region.

For the 2026–2027 academic year, a total of 13 scholarships will be awarded for the following master’s programmes at prestigious Spanish universities:

  • Master’s Degree in Renewable Energies in Electrical Systems
  • Universidad Carlos III de Madrid
  • Master’s Degree in Smart and Sustainable Cities
  • Universidad Complutense de Madrid
  • Master’s in Integration of Renewable Energies in the Electrical System
  • Universidad del País Vasco
  • Master’s Degree in Energy Engineering
  • Universidad Politécnica de Madrid
  • Master’s Degree in Geographic Information Technologies
  • Universidad de Alcalá
  • Master’s Degree in Wind Energy Engineering
  • Universidad Pública de Navarra
  • Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering
  • Universidad de Sevilla

This scholarship programme is part of the Carolina Foundation’s general 2026–2027 call, under the motto “Strengthening capacities, promoting rights. Knowledge for development in Ibero-America”, which includes a total of 736 scholarships across all areas of knowledge, aligned with the goals of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.

Applications may be submitted until 2 March 2026.
