Fundación Iberdrola España moves the “Museorum” exhibition to Illescas

  • The municipality hosts until January 7 this great photographic exhibition that includes unique pieces from the five provincial galleries
  • With this exhibition project, Iberdrola continues to support culture and heritage conservation through different actions in Castilla-La Mancha

The municipality of Illescas hosts today “Museorum”, the outdoor exhibition cycle that offers the most representative pieces of the five provincial galleries through 42 large panels in a selection of photographs. The Iberdrola Spain Foundation installs in the emblematic space of the Manuel de Vega Park in the municipality of Toledo until January 7 this exhibition brings the art of the museums of Castilla-La Mancha to its neighbors.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition was attended by José Manuel Tofiño, mayor of Illescas; José Gutiérrez, provincial delegate of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of CLM in Toledo; and Fernando García, president of the Iberdrola Spain Foundation.

Among the exhibited pieces are some like The Knight of the Villares, The Bust of Lucius Caesar of Ercávica, The Venus of Noheda, The Sepulcher of Doña Aldonza de Mendoza of Lupiana, The Immaculate Oballe of El Greco, The Female Sculpture of Zenon of Aphrodisias, The Front of the Synagogue of Ciudad Real or The Transit of San Julián by Giuseppe Simonelli.

In addition, the Museum of Santa Cruz de Toledo will also exhibit the Mosaic of the Four Seasons of the Vega Baja, the Sarcophagus with the story of Jonás de Carranque, the Brocal of the well of the Aljama mosque of Toledo, the Mudejar eight-pointed jar, the Banner of the Battle of Lepanto, the Immaculate Oballe by El Greco, the Altarpiece of Santiago by Juan Ruiz de Luna and the Castilian Woman by Alberto Sánchez.

After the success of the exhibition in Cuenca and in the La Mancha municipalities of Alcolea de Calatrava, Manzanares, Cifuentes, Bolaños de Calatrava, La Roda, and Quintanar del Rey, “Museorum” continues its tour of the Autonomous Community. After Illescas, the exhibition will pass through Humanes, Torrijos, and Tobarra.

Recently, Fundación Iberdrola España was awarded the Medal of Cultural Merit in Castilla-La Mancha for its patronage and support of culture in the 5th Edition of these awards promoted by the regional government.
