- The Foundation’s Social Program distributes 1.4 million euros and will assist more than 83,000 people
- The development of the projects will favor the labor insertion of some 1,160 people
- The actions are focused on three groups: children, youth, and women
Fundación Iberdrola España publishes the names of the winning entities and projects of the 2024 Social Program. A total of 43 have been selected and will receive 1.4 million euros.
The Foundation’s objective is to contribute to mitigating poverty and inequality and to increase employment and training opportunities for the most vulnerable people. During the implementation of these projects, some 83,000 people will benefit. In addition, it is expected that more than 1,160 people will find work and more than 2,000 people will improve their employability.
The 2024 Social Program has prioritized three lines of action. The first of these focuses on child and youth poverty. Initiatives have been selected that promote education as the main tool to mitigate the effects of child poverty and promote the reduction of school dropout rates, foster employability, and improve their social inclusion.
The second line of work focuses on projects to support women, favoring their self-esteem and personal and economic autonomy, especially supporting women in vulnerable situations, such as victims of harassment and gender violence.
The third line addresses social inclusion projects for people with disabilities, seriously ill or under treatment for addictions, to promote skills for their cognitive development and enhance their autonomy.
The selection of projects was based on the criteria of rigor, transparency, and good governance of the participating entities and their experience in social projects. To this end, the entities had to have their accounts audited for the last few years, in addition to having their bylaws and documentation published on their website. The set of initiatives selected in the program can be consulted here.
